Instructors come to online teaching at different points in their career and for different reasons. If you have face-to-face teaching experience, you’ll find that much of what you know will translate in some form to the online classroom. Content delivery, course design, and course management work together to create your students’ online class experience. It’s not enough to be a “great teacher” if you hope to succeed online. You will need to be prepared, and your course will need to be optimized for the online environment. This short course, approximately 30 minutes,  will help put you on a successful path to online teaching.

To begin this course, you will need to have an account and login. If you are not logged in or do not have an account, click “Login to Enroll” in the upper right of your screen. Next, click on one of the lessons below. At the bottom of each window, you will have the option to mark the lesson as complete (which will move you to the next lesson) or click on the “next lesson” button. A course navigation menu will remain on the left side of your screen for direct access to any page, including the quiz. Once you have reviewed all the content in this course, please attempt the New to Online Teaching Competency Quiz.
