This short, self-paced course is intended for Wichita State University GTAs, and will introduce you to the benefits and obligations of a GTA, your new role, Title IX, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, the Care Team, accessibility, and the Student Early Alert System.

If you did not attend the mandatory new GTA Workshop in August (for GTAs that start in the fall term) or January (for GTAs that start in the spring term) then this course is mandatory for you. You must successfully complete this course or your assistantship may be terminated. Make sure you do this soon.

For those who attended (thanks!), this course will offer you a great review of the information presented in Dr. Wilks’ ppt presentation.

To begin this course, choose the link “Wichita State GTA Introduction” below.  At the bottom of each window, you should have the option to mark complete (which will advance you to the next lesson) or click the “next lesson” button. NOTE: if at any time you do not see the “Next Lesson” button at the bottom of a page, you can always use the course navigation menu on the left to advance to the next lesson.  The course navigation menu will remain on the left side of your screen for direct access to any page. Once you have reviewed all the content in this course, please attempt the “Policies and Procedures” competency quiz. If you score an 100% on the quiz and you also acknowledge receipt and understanding of the Title IX information in this course, you will have successfully completed this course. You may use this digital credential and/or the confirmation email as proof of completion to the Graduate School.
